Purpose | The ACRE network is made up of 38 rural community councils (RCCs) across England who help communities to help themselves. Our vision - to be the voice of rural communities. Our Mission - is to provide critical, evidence-based intelligence and solutions to achieve a fair deal for rural communities. Rccs are charitable local development agencies, generally based at county level, which lead, support and enable community initiatives to, reaching 50,000 grassroots organisations. |
Services | From running community transport schemes and oil-buying clubs, to assessing housing needs supporting older people to stay in their homes, the 900 staff across Network offer a wide range of specialist skills. We offer advise & support for village halls. Village SOS - funding programme will help communities start their own socail enterprise- from setting up a shop or saving a pub to opening a cafe or cinema. We support rural communities in the following areas: Community planning, community rights, Digital Inclusion, Employment & Economy, Energy & Fuel, Environment, Health, Housing, Older People, Social Enterprise, Transport, Village Halls and Young People.
