Buxton & District Lions Club

We are a group of local like-minded people with a social conscience. Our purpose is to help other people, especially in the local community but also those facing global challenges. We do this both through fund-raising and through practical action. We support other groups and organisations with similar aims. We enjoy each other’s company and we like doing things as a team.

1. We raise funds and give grants to local individuals in need and to local groups and
   organisations who need funds to
   maintain their wide-reaching programmes of support for local people in need or
   at risk. We also donate to international appeals for aid arising from natural
   disasters. 
2. We provide practical help, for example building storage shelving
   for High Peak Homeless Help, volunteer driving and helping with school mock
   interviews. We operate the Message in a Bottle scheme. And we promote (and help
   fund) the increase of defibrillators in the town. 
3. We promote and support community service amongst young people.
