Purpose | Bakewell area U3A brings together people who are no longer in full time employment, to share interests and activities. It enables members to share many educational, creative and leisure activities. |
Services | We provide social activities eg coffee mornings, meals out and group activities, groups vary from book reading, cookery and languages to walking, gardens, theatre and bird watching. There are about 25 groups in all. |

Opening Times | Different groups meet on different days and at varying times. Most groups meet once a month. |
Eligibility Criteria | Anyone who is in the 'third age' i.e. no longer in full time employment can join the U3A. No qualifications are needed. |
Meeting Place | Locations vary from private house to community centres such as village halls. |
Service Costs | Members pay an annual subscription. £17 for 2024. This covers various costs including hire of premises, a newsletter 4 times p.a. and a levy to U3A headquarters. |
