| Purpose | To work with parents to be, parents and children to promote the physical, intellectual and social development of babies and young children particularly those who are disadvantaged so that they can flourish at home and when they get to school, and thereby break the cycle of disadvantage for the current generation of young people. |
| Services | Children's centres provide a range of activities, services and groups to achieve our mission statement. These activities take place in Children's Centres, in other community buildings and in families homes. The types of activies we do include; Early education. Childcare. Family support and support services in the home or community (known as outreach) for parents and carers. Child and family health services. Job Centre Plus. Information, advice and guidance to other services available (known as personal signposting). |

| Meeting Place | There are Children's Centres in North Wingfield, Arkwright, Clay Cross, Dronfield, Eckington, Killamarsh and Stonebroom with Tupton Children's Centre opening Spring 2011. The Centres also provide activities in services to the surrounding area. |
