Purpose The society supports members in pursuit of their gardening activities. The society promotes gardening as a healthy and environmentally friendly pursuit and is committed to raising awareness of the benefits of growing and eating fresh fruit and vegetables. It set-up and manages two allotment sites in New Mills for local residents and organise events its activities. It is a member of the National Allotment Society and is committed to the principles of the wider allotment movement.
Services The society manages the allotment sites on Ollersett Avenue and in Hague Bar and maintains a waiting list for available plots on wither site. Allotment plots are offered fairly, to residents of New Mills Parish when they become available.

The Society organises annual open days on its sites and other events to raise awareness of the benefits of growing and eating fresh vegetables.

The Society also participates in the National Allotment Society seed scheme and places an annual bulk seed order for members.

Membership of the society is open to anyone who is interested in gardening, even if they do not wish to rent an allotment.

Opening Times Allotment sites are open to members at any time. Open days and events for the general public are advertised on our website. Society meetings are 4 times a year - details are circulated to members in advance of meetings.
Meeting Place Allotment sites are off Ollerset Avenue, New mills, SK22 4LE and off Waterside Road, New Mills SK22 3AS. VEnues for events are advertsided on our website.
Service Costs Society membership is £5 yearly. Rental for allotment plots is £25 per 100 square metres yearly. Promotional activities such as allotment site open days and seed and seeding swap events are free to members and no-members.
