Children First Derby

Children First Derby was established in 1974 and is a local registered charity working to make a positive impact on the community it serves. It seeks to achieve this through the provision of high quality services to improve the quality of family life by offering support to parents, young people and children. The opening hours are Monday-Friday 10.00am-5.00pm.

Supervised Contact Service - for looked after children and young people.   Contracted service provided for Derby City plus direct private service available on request.
Mentoring Service - for vulnerable young people aged 10-16.   Trained volunteers provide one-to-one support to improve engagement in education, reduce involvement in anti-social behaviour, reduce social exclusion and increase self-esteem and confidence.  Referrals accepted from health professionals, statutory and voluntary organisations, schools and via self-referrral. 
Family Support Service - for vulnerable families with children aged 0 to 18.  Following assessment of need, trained volunteers provide direct support in such areas as parenting skills, healthy eating, budgeting and accessing support services.  Referrals accepted from health professionals, statutory and voluntary organisations, schools and via self-referrral.
