Purpose The Miners' Convalescent Home has enjoyed a seafront location in Skegness since 1939 and the home became as much a part of the everyday life of the average Derbyshire miner as any other aspect of the industry. On the of 4th January 2005, under a Charity Commission Scheme the Home was transferred to CISWO and now forms part of the CISWO Charity. This move was to help preserve the facility and safeguard it's future. Major strides have been made and the continuing challenge is to maintain the proud mining heritage of the Derbyshire Miners and continue to provide holidays for the East Midlands Coalfields as a whole both now and in the future.
