| Purpose | Burton and District Mind has been providing mental health services to adults in Burton & surrounding areas for over 20 years. Over the years our counsellors have provided support to thousands of people - enabling them to take advantage of the health & well being benefits that our service offers. We are a not for profit charity affiliated to national Mind. Our aims include:- The promotion of better mental health, both on an individual level for those people experiencing mental health difficulties who seek our help, and on a more general level within the wider community. The promotion of the well-being of carers of individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. The promotion of the influence of service users on mental health issues, such as the way that local services are planned and delivered. The promotion of education on mental health issues within the wider community. |
| Services | Counselling:- Our fully qualified & experience counsellors & therapists offer face to face support in areas of: anxious feelings, panic attacks, low mood and depression, dissatisfaction with life, stress (work, college & home), anger & violence, relationship difficulties, bereavement & loss, coping with physical illness, phobias, unhappiness & loneliness, food & mood, PTSD, OCD, survivors of abuse, lack of confidence, communication / assertiveness. Holistic therapies:- Come and enjoy a treatment that can be relaxing or revitalising, encouraging the body to release endorphins (feel good chemicals) which relieve stress and anxiety and aid re-balancing of body, mind and emotions in a safe caring environment.
