Purpose | The Open Centre aims to promote understanding and good relationships between people of different racial, cultural and religious groups. It doesn't try to eliminate differences between people but encourages understanding and appreciation of each other. It organises visits to various places of worship, such as the Sikh Gurdwara, Hindu Temple, Mosque and Christian churches, as well as cultural workshops and a monthly Open Lunch (vegetarian). Bharatanatyam Indian Classical Dance classes are available for all ages and abilities every Thursday between 6pm and 8pm. A mult-faith volunteer co-ordinator has been appointed. |
