| Purpose | As a spiritual centre, the Cathedral fulfils the triple role of parish church to its regular congregation, civic church to city and county and mother church to Derby Diocese. As an education centre it is visited by increasing numbers of school pupils and other students from a wide area and abroad and of all ages and interests. As an arts centre it hosts many concerts, plays and other performances throughout the year. Cathedral staff actively work together with both other denominational and civic colleagues, to promote the city and create unity and harmony in worship throughout. |
