Purpose | The WEA is the largest voluntary sector provider of adult education courses in the UK . Founded in 1903, today’s WEA now runs over 10,000 courses each year for over 150,000 adults of all ages and from all walks of life. The WEA is committed to widening participation and to enabling people to realise their full potential through learning. You don’t need any previous knowledge or qualifications to join most of our courses - only a willingness to share with others your ideas and experience. The Derby branch consists of our committee, our learners, and the office staff. We put on a wide variety of courses every year, from painting to local and international history and many things in between. |
