Purpose The museums service has three sites: Derby Museum & Art Gallery, housing high quality exhibitions and displays of Derby porcelain, Joseph Wright paintings, Derbyshire wildlife and local and regimental history. Derby Silk Mill Museum is in one of Britain's first factories and features displays about local industries, including Rolls Royce aero engines and railway engineering. Pickfords House is an elegant 1770 town house illustrating the domestic life of the Georgian period with attractive period rooms, garden and fine historic costume displays.
