Purpose Friends of Markeaton Brook is a voluntary community group constituted to educate the public about the historical, natural and amenity value of Markeaton Brook from it's source at Hulland Ward , through the catchment and into Derby. The constitution was signed on 25th January 2005 .

We are a member of the Mercaston and Markeaton Brook Project in partnership with the City Council, the National Trust, the Farmers Wildlife Advisory Group, Natural England, Environment Agency and others. We work with private owners, community groups and interested parties all along the catchment.

We work with Derby City Council's Wild Derby partnership, Environmental Services, Flood Defence Team, the University.of Derby and local schools.
