| Purpose | They are responsible for recruiting governors with management skills for schools that need them. They work with local authorities to help schools find governors and fill vacancies which exist across England to find people with transferable skills, who can add value on governing bodies. The organisation's main roles are: to provide strategic direction for the school, act as a critical friend to the headteacher and ensure accountability. Governors deal with issues such as: how the schools budget is spent, the appointing and dismissing of staff and forming policy on the school's curriculum |
