| Description | Formed in 2003 to bring together a group of keen singers, we’re an auditioned SATB choir of about 25 singers. We welcome new members throughout the year. Our repertoire covers a wide range of music based in the classical genre, with touches of added jazz. Rehearsals are in Allestree, Derby, about once a month – usually on Sunday evenings. We’ve performed on Concert Tours in Belgium (2018) – in the Cathedrals of Ypres and Bruges, and at the Menin Gate Last Post Ceremony and in Paris (2019) singing in La Madeleine and Chartres Cathedral. Nearer to home we’ve sung in many Derbyshire churches and venues including Derby Cathedral, Haddon Hall, Sudbury Hall, St Mary’s St Leonard’s, Wollaton, and the Church of St John the Evangelist in Derby. In 2019 we enjoyed a variety of performances including continuing collaborations with Newstead Abbey Singers and a performance in London at The Actors’ Church – St Paul’s, Covent Garden. August 2020 sees us on tour again – this time singing in Vienna. |
