| Description | Cypress was initially funded by Derbyshire County Council to set up support groups for parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs and/or disabilities within the districts of Amber Valley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Erewash and North East Derbyshire. The set-up of the support groups is the first initiative undertaken by Cypress and it is intended to build upon these groups to offer additional services to support communities and families across Derbyshire. Our fundamental principles are: to support parents and carers to access services, information and support; to support children, young people and their families to access the services they need and to promote choice, quality and value for money to promote informed decision making; to encourage and value ownership of services; to provide open access and supportive environments. |
