Purpose | Established in 2004, Hathersage Careline is a free telephone befriending service which strives to improve the welfare of people who are elderly, isolated, frail, disadvantaged or disabled in Hathersage and nearby locations. We are happy to accommodate clients on a temporary basis, perhaps those just out of hospital or whilst their relatives are away for short periods. |
Services | Hathersage Careline trained Volunteers telephone our Clients every morning, or less frequently if desired, to offer companionship and friendship over the telephone. If the client does not respond, we endeavour to contact a nominated friend, neighbour or relative. We do not undertake personal visits other than an annual call by our Client Co-ordinator to assess continuing needs and suitability for the service. Several of our Clients have been receiving calls for many years. |
