Purpose | The Long Eaton and Sawley foodbank provides emergency food parcels to the people within our community who have hit financial crisis. We provide three days worth of nutritionally balanced food, signposting to further areas of support and a listening ear in a friendly, non-judgemental environment. |
Services | Within the community we collect non-perishable food donations in from members of the public at local supermarket sites. Within the storage site this food is weighed, dated and stored. They then make the food parcels up on demand, ready to be handed out to those most in need. At the distribution site members of the public who have been given food vouchers by our partner organisations come to collect their much needed food. Here our volunteers welcome them with a friendly smile, a hot drink and some much welcome conversation. The clients leave with 3 days worth of food and a knowledge that there are people out there that really do care |
