Purpose

To protect trees on the land known as George Street Wood which is off George Street, Glossop and preserve public access.

All members of FoGSW share the desire to protect the natural environment and encourage the enjoyment of George Street Wood.

In particular, FoGSW aim to:

* Sustain and enhance the flora and fauna of the woodland and their habitats
* Preserve public access into and throughout the woodland perpetuity
* Promote the woodland as part of a unified green space that includes Harehills
Park and the adjoining banks of Glossop Brook

FoGSW believe these aims are consistent with how an owner might be expected to deal with land for public benefit and charitable purposes, including the advancement of community enjoyment, well-being and understanding, and environmental protection.
