Purpose Talking Mental Health Derbyshire is a Primary Care Psychological Therapy Service; part of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT).

Services provided include: face-to-face individual therapy, educational workshops, telephone facilitated self-help and computer based interventions.

Therapies offered include: counselling for depression, cognitive behavioural therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR),  mindfulness based cognitive therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, brief dynamic therapy, couples therapy and psychosexual therapy.
Services

Working in partner ship with Derwent Rural Counselling Service and Relate, Talking Mental Health Derbyshire is an NHS service which provides free short-term counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy for those experiencing difficulties such as: depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, anger, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, psychosexual problems, bereavement and mild-moderate eating disorders. IAPT

Opening Times Our core working hours are 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, although in some circumstances we may offer appointments outside this.
Eligibility Criteria Anyone over the age of 18 years (or over 16 years if not in full time education), registered with a GP in Derbyshire or Derby City may self-refer to the service for an initial assessment. We have no upper age-limit.
Meeting Place We provide therapy and counselling in a variety of venues across Derbyshire and Derby City.
Service Costs Talking Mental Health Derbyshire is a free NHS service provided by Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
