To promote the advancement of education by developing public interest in all aspects of local archeology and history. To undertake original research into all aspects of local history. |

| Geographical area coverage | Part(s) of Derbyshire,Dove Valley. At this stage we are focussing on the area of the Dove Valley adjacent to the Hilton and Marston on Dove CP. |

| Opening Times | Events and activities are organised as required, not in a calendrical pattern and focus around research and investigation opportunities such as digs and other archaelogical activities. |
| Eligibility Criteria | Membership is open to all. The Group shall consist of interested individuals who wish to voluntarily contribute to the aims of the organisation. It is not limited to local residents, nor to those willing to undertake practical activities. |
| Meeting Place | In and around the civil parish of Hilton & Marston on Dove with the intention of expanding along the Dove Valley up as far as Ashbourne. |
| Service Costs | A small - currently £5 - membership fee. Other funding is sought to enable the activities to be professionally supported and for the results to be presented to the wider community. |
