| Purpose | We work towards a vision of a society of sustainable communities which are vibrant, healthy and safe, which respect the local and global environment and where individuals and enterprise prosper. Creating those sustainable communities means developing initiatives which cut across economics, social issues and the environment. Our work is diverse, but all of it helps to achieve our vision. We know we'll never achieve our vision without working together with passionate individuals, proactive public services and innovative parts of the private sector. We work with people to help them improve both where they live and their quality of life. This includes helping them to have meaningful involvement in the development of their local area. Our teams of specialists are experienced in getting people to speak out, taking on board their views and translating these into positive changes. Local projects bring together people from different backgrounds and age groups to reduce conflict and boost community spirit through activities, events and schemed to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Our operating area is across all of Derbyshire, and large parts of Nottinghamshire. |

Deliver courses and events to promote a healthy lifestyle - this includes both growing vegetables and cooking in deprived communities particularly working with overweight adults. Groundwork has a wide remit delivering construction, horticulture courses for young people 14 -19 years. |
