Purpose We provide physiotherapy and complementary support in the home to the elderly residents of rural High Peak communities who find it difficult to travel to hospital or clinics for treatment.

We aim to relive suffering by providing physiotherapy treatment to alleviate pain and increase mobility for the elderly residents of the rural High Peak communities. Along with other support we help the elderly lead full and independent lives in their own homes, reduce isolation, and improve our patients general welfare and wellbeing.

Services On referral from their GP, our physiotherapist treats patients who need physiotherapy treatment for pain relief and restoring mobility. Treatment covers many ailments which can cause significant suffering to the elderly, including back and neck pain, arthritis, mobility problems, sprains and strains, falls, fractures, rheumatic and chest conditions, and joint replacements.

First contact is made by our physiotherapist who telephones the patient when a referral is received from one of the GP surgeries in the area. An appointment is made for an initial assessment where the patients needs, views and history are discussed. The physiotherapist agrees a treatment plan with the patient that best suits their needs and continues for as long as the patient may benefit from treatment.

After an initial assessment of the patients needs and suitability of the home and equipment already being used, medicine prescribed by the GP is being taken.
As well as a physical health being treated through physiotherapy and recommending equipment, additional support may be suggested by giving information , or by referral to relevant social services, dementia services, social groups and clubs which may benefit the patients mental wellbeing.
