Purpose Organic Garden Learning place, or Community Garden. No previous gardening knowledge is required. We are as much a social and learning place as anything else and can find none gardening tasks for those that prefer not to garden but like the outdoors.
Services The garden was founded in 2016 on a seriously overgrown patch of land that for over 200 years had been part of the allotment site.
It has been brought back to life and now functions as a community organic garden, growing produce to share among the volunteers and to offer surplus produce to food banks and community kitchens.
In a relaxing atmosphere, we have a pond full of wildlife, a caravan and viewing platform where we encourage relaxation and offer refreshments throughout our time on the plot.
Volunteers are involved in all stages of growing from sowing seeds, potting on, preparing the growing beds, planting out and harvesting.
Open days are held a few times a year, when feasible, to promote the existence of the garden and to encourage new volunteers to join.
We welcome people of all levels of gardening ability.
