| Purpose | Can-Nga Court (CNC) is first established in March 2006 as affiliated body to the Nottinghamshire Chinese Community Association. At that time, there were no Chinese opera association in Midland, and not many people were keen on Chinese opera. Hence, we did not have many members at the time. We became independent in 2010 and established our own constitution. Over years, we have never given up our aims and objectives, to inspire people to learn more about the Chinese culture, to make a better place for older Chinese and increase their community engagement. Luckily, with the help of Derby Community Action and Derby Homes, we finally have our own place for teaching and rehearsals, and with the aid of Big Lottery Fund, we can now purchase equipment such as audio system, costumes and props that supports our growth. As our growth continues, we are welcoming new members to join us and be part of this flourishing organisation. |
