Description Field archery is an outdoor activity. The Club manages a 6 acre wood for the purposes of field archery, where targets are placed around a course within the wood. Participants can enjoy the sport of archery while appreciating a woodland environment. We offer a supportive environment, encouraging members to have fun whether interest is for leisure only or competitive. A covered practice area is available which is used for training.

Purpose

The Club is registered with the National Field Archery Society and abides by its codes and rules of conduct. In addition the Club has it's own constitution and aims and objectives summarised below:
To foster and promote the sport of field archery for all abilities and ages whether as a leisure activity or for those wishing to compete competitively.
Family membership is also promoted, so that children and young people are encouraged to participate.
To maintain close contact with local community groups to encourage an active lifestyle and enjoyment of the local environment.
The Club manages a wood for the purposes of field archery, tree and ground maintenance is a prime responsibility and members are encouraged to practice many woodland crafts in the process.
New entrants to archery receive training to ensure safe operation of archery equipment, a minumum of 6 sessions is required.
The Club acknowledges a duty of care to all members of the Club. This includes acceptance of the NFAS Child Protection policy and GDPR policy.
To foster the spirit of goodwill, fellowship and sportsmanship among archers.
To ensure that all members receive fair and equal treatment.

Services

The Club offers coaching to new entrants to the sport. The history of archery and associated skills (arrow and bow making) is taught.
Maintenance of the woodland is an important aspect of the club, conservation of the wood and acquiring woodland skills is encouraged.

Opening Times The Club meets weekly on a Saturday from 10am - 4pm. Members also have use of the wood everyday except Tuesday. Members are not allowed to shoot in the wood alone, a minimum of 2 people is required, they must also sign in and place the appropriate warning signs out.
Eligibility Criteria The Club is open to all ages from age 5 years and above. Children under 16 must be accompanied by parent or adult guardian. The Club is open to all abilities, consistent with safe handling of equipment. We can hold group sessions of up to 16 e.g. children, youth and corporate groups.

Service Costs Adult Membership is £20 p.a. U16 - £10 p.a. Weekly fees Adult - £2 U16 - £1. Guests Adult £5 U16 - £2.50. Training fee is £40. For 6 weeks training All equipment provided, + A further 6 weeks woods familiarisation.
