Purpose The Elm Foundation is a specialist provider of domestic abuse services established in 1985 when we opened our first refuge. We are a local charity, offering a range of services appropriate to individual needs to support women, men and children who are affected by domestic abuse. We are affiliated to Women's Aid Federation England, the key national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children. The Elm Foundation works with those who have witnessed or experienced domestic abuse. Service Costs Services are free of charge. All our services except for counselling are free of charge. The counselling service charges a small, affordable fee between £1 and £20 per session. We ask counselling clients to consider how much they can reasonably afford to pay for their sessions and agree a weekly amount at the start of the service. We only ask clients to give what they can afford and we take into account changes in circumstances so the agreement can be changed if necessary.
