Purpose | On an entirely voluntary basis, Kinder Mountain Rescue Team provides a free 999 search and rescue service, on call 24/7/365, providing aid, often lifesaving and time critical, to anyone in need in the northern Peak District and Stockport area. |
Services | Primarily we find and help injured or missing walkers, fell runners or mountain bikers. We also provide numerous other health support services in North Derbyshire. Examples include: - supporting the ambulance service when they are unable to reach a casualty due to the weather or an inaccessible location - providing traffic support to the police and other agencies with blocked roads and helping stranded motorists |

Meeting Place | Our base is 14 Church Street, Hayfield, where our vehicles and equipment are stored, our team members meet and are trained and callouts are managed. Our main area of operation covers an area that includes the plateau of Kinder Scout, and westward to the outskirts of Stockport. In addition, we augment other Peak District mountain rescue teams when retired. |
