Purpose

We work solely through ground work with the horses , no experience is needed , we work by building a relationship of trust between a human and horse , building confidences and learning horsemanship based skills.

Services

We are Derby-shires only Peer to Peer equine led development unit. working through non ridden equine partnership building, we offer one to one and group support to a wide range of people. We have groups who work hands on with the horses and others who are made up of people who enjoy being around animals . Using Life coaching, Befriending and support, Peer to peer support services and meditation and mindfulness, we are here to enjoy the outdoors and share the benefits of horsemanship with others.

Opening Times Monday to Friday 10am to 7pm summer time (dusk in winter ) Saturday 9am to 4pm summer time (dusk if earlier in winter ) We have a number of groups for 2020, please contact us for full information . Mental Wellness Carrot Club (Over 18s) : Tuesday 11am - 12.30 pm Saturday 1.30pm - 3pm This group is for anyone over 18 who suffers from anixety, depression, PTSD, or related conditions. Carrot Growers Club (new for 2020) all ages Saturday 12.30 - 2pm This is not a hands on horse handling group, but for anyone who wishes to increase their mental wellbeing by developing our gardening space to support the animals on site. growing appropriate foods and herbs and enjoying the quiet surroundings of the centre. Young persons group and a carer and supporters group to be launched in early spring 2020, please contact us for more information.

Service Costs Carrot club and Carrot Growers club are partially funded and we request a part payment of £5.00 per person per session . 1:1 support is charged at £25 per hour some of our groups are fully funded and have eligibility criteria , please contact us for more information on these groups.
