Purpose

CamTAD - Campaign for Tackling Acquired Deafness provide information and advice for hearing impaired people, running clinics for re-tubing NHS hearing aids, referrals to Social Services for some equipment or where they can buy equipment for themselves.

CamTAD is a self help group run for, and mainly by, people who have become hard of hearing. Their main aim is to ensure that hearing impaired people have the highest possible quality of life and are aware of all the services available. Office opens Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

Services

We provide 23 clinics in Derby city and the County where volunteers can clean, re-tube hearing aids, minor fault diagnosis and minor repairs. Some of the clinics in Derby City have bi-lingual support. These clinics are a drop in service, no appointment necessary but may involve a small wait but we endeavour to see everyone who attends. We also do business support services including training for Disability Awareness, Hearing Loss Awareness, Loop Systems and More.
