Purpose

Our scheme supports a wide range of people, including those who are homeless, people living with mental illness, learning disabilities or recovering from substance misuse, people who have spent their childhood in care, are fleeing domestic violence amongst others.

Services

Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Mia Tinsley, service manager for Positive Futures Supported Housing. We are a supported housing provider which covers a variety of areas.

Our properties are of a high standard to enable a comfortable supported living arrangement. We follow a company based framework known as the WILT (would I live there) which in a nutshell means we wouldn't offer any accommodation that we wouldn't live in ourselves!
We initially house clients in a HMO for a maximum of 12 months. When a client demonstrates readiness to move on to independent living we will accommodate this through an internal move to one of our single-units, if available, or they will move on with local authority.
All service users are at the centre of all decision making which reinforces the importance of empowering them to live independently within the community and making right choices and decisions. Our service works towards a person centred support plan reviewed quarterly. This plan is put into practice through 1:1 weekly support, house meetings and welfare checks depending on individual needs. Our staffing team has a minimum of an NVQ level 2 in a relevant subject area with at least one years’ experience within the field. This ensures all staff have a relevant level of knowledge and experience prior to training for their role.If our clients are in recovery from substance and alcohol addiction we support them in working with external support services. We currently have properties available in the following areas:Erewash, Ambergate, Salford, Ashfield and High Peak. We house individuals from various backgrounds who are or at risk of becoming homeless. The risk level which we consider is between low and medium. We consider those with complex needs whether this be issues with substances, mental health, and DV amongst others.Once a referral is received we will invite the individual for an interview which gives them the opportunity to disclose any relevant information. We will then carry out a risk assessment alongside the gathering of information from past or current services to measure their suitability for our scheme and risk assess further. From this, a decision will be made. This process can take up to 1 week and move-in's are done on a Monday only. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to get in touch. Please, if you feel any individual would be suitable for our scheme, signpost back to me and I will begin our process.
