| Purpose | SS Augustine PCC act as stewards for the large church building on Derby Rd. Our vision is to ensure the building is used to meet the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the parish (the Rother Ward). In order to do this well, the PCC partner with a number of health and social care providers, and act as host for a number of activities and services. These include: - hosting community testing (hepatitis, HIV and Covid) - being the home to Gussie’s Kitchen food hub which provides food, essentials, advice to local people in need, and signpost to relevant agencies. - hosting therapeutic art groups supporting those with complex mental health needs. - being a base for RAY club – providing educational and sports activities for children and young people during holidays and food parcels to combat holiday hunger. - providing chaplaincy and volunteering opportunities for Hope House homeless hostel. |
