Purpose

We believe that having choice and control over your care and daily activities is not just important - it's essential.
Everyone deserves to be treated as an individual, with their preferences, interests, and routines respected and valued. We work closely with each person to understand what matters most to them, whether that's choosing which activities to participate in, how they spend their time, or how they receive support.
By promoting independence and encouraging personal decision - making, we aim to create a space where people feel confident, respected, and truly at home.

Services

The Enabled Centre is a day service provision and part of the charity Disability Direct, supporting disabled people in Derby and the surrounding areas. Our centre is more than just a place to spend the day; it's a vibrant community built on compassion, connection, and care. Whether you are here for activities, to develop independent living and learning skills, or simply for a friendly face and a cup of tea, we're here to ensure that every visit is meaningful and enjoyable.
The centre
offers a diverse range of activities, led by experienced Activity and Life Skills Coordinators
and Care & Support staff.

All
activities, sessions and workshops are aimed at supporting the learning of life
skills and enhancing existing skills, which can be transferred to everyday life, promoting independence, putting our members in control of the choices they make,
enabling them to make informed decisions, direct their own life, and achieve
independent living.

Each member
has their own Pathway unique to them, Pathways are designed to support members
in their goals, whether the goals are for the centre, for life, or personal, we
can identify the skills needed to get them there. The Pathway framework can
flex to support every person’s journey for their short- and long-term goals,
they show evidence of progress and are a fun way of achieving new things!

All members
have the choice to work on personal projects, big or small, chosen and led by
each individual person supporting self-expression, creativity, and achievement.
