Purpose Sight Support Derbyshire exists to enhance the quality of life of blind and visually impaired people in Derbyshire. We do this by providing practical and emotional support to people and their families. We also work to reduce avoidable sight loss in Derbyshire by providing information to people about good eye health.
Services • Eye Clinic Liaison Officers (ECLO’s) - providing advice and information to people visiting hospital eye clinics.
• Telephone advice and information
• Low Vision Assessment service (eligibility criteria to meet)
• Rehabilitation service targeting mobility, independent living and communication (eligibility criteria to meet)
• Resource centres - equipment and information
• Mobile resource service – taking information, equipment and advice out to communities around Derby and Derbyshire
• Social groups for visually impaired adults
• Children & Young Peoples service for visually impaired children and their siblings aged 6-18
• Befriending service (eligibility criteria to meet)
