Description The Ilkeston Stroke Club provides an informal setting where people who have suffered a stroke can meet others in a happy, relaxed atmosphere. We hope to help them to regain their confidence and re-learn skills, by providing stimulating and congenial meetings. Our aim is to try to improve the quality of life of both our members and their carers, and to give them something to look forward to each fortnight. The Ilkeston Stroke Club is run by volunteers and was formed to help stroke survivors and their families. Activities include exercise, games, quizzes, raffles and refreshments. Occasional invited guests and friends help us to include short talks, demonstrations and musical entertainment. Also there are celebration teas, a Christmas Party and an Annual General Meeting. Outings are made to social lunches and to visitor attractions.
